OBJECTIVE: To review and analize the scientific evidence regarding the psychological interventions carried out in the caregivers of underage cancer patients. METHOD: A systematic review of articles from peer-reviewed journals was conducted. Articles were recovered from MEDLINE (through PubMed), Embase, Cochrane Library, PsycINFO, PSICODOC, Scopus, Web of Science and MEDES until July 2020. The search equation was formulated using the descriptors «Psychotherapy» and «Caregivers» and «Neoplasms», also using the related Entry Terms and filters: «Humans» and «Child: birth-18 years». The quality of the articles was evaluated using the CONSORT questionnaire and the level of evidence and grade of recommendation using the GRADE criteria. RESULTS: After applying the inclusión and exclusión criteria 11 articles were selected from the 255 articles initially retrieved. In the evaluation of the quality of the articles using CONSORT the scores ranged from a mínimum of 14,5 to a maximum of 20,8 with a median of 18,5 (maximum score of 21). According to GRADE criteria a strong recommendation grade (moderate to high quality evidence) was obtained, classified between the ranges from 1B to 1A. The most frequent intervention was cognitive behavioral therapy, in 7 of 11 clinical trials, being directed by a psychologist, with face to face sessions being the most used form of intervention. CONCLUSIONS: Most of the clinical trials measured depressive, anxious and post-traumatic symptoms. The most used intervention was cognitive behavioral therapy with a decrease in post-traumatic stress. It was also observed that depression, anxiety and the feeling of less emotional charge decreased in the intervention group. However, in some trials no significant differences were found in terms of symptoms in these areas. But even so, the caregiving mothers rated the intervention as favorable

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a relatively new psychotherapy that has gradually gained popularity for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. In the present work, the standardised EMDR protocol is introduced, along with current hypotheses of its mechanism of action, as well as a critical review of the available literature on its clinical effectiveness in adult post-traumatic stress disorder. A systematic review of the published literature was performed using PubMed and PsycINFO databases with the keywords «eye movement desensitization and reprocessing» and «post-traumatic stress disorder» and its abbreviations «EMDR» and «PTSD». Fifteen randomised controlled trials of good methodological quality were selected. These studies compared EMDR with unspecific interventions, waiting lists, or specific therapies. Overall, the results of these studies suggest that EMDR is a useful, evidence-based tool for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, in line with recent recommendations from different international health organizations

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To determine the presence and consultations with nurse terminology in the Spanish edition of Wikipedia, and to analyze the differences with the English edition. METHOD: We confirmed the existence of terminology via the Internet by the access to the Spanish and English editions of Wikipedia. RESULTS: We calculated the study sample (n = 386) from the 1840 nursery terms. 337 were found in the Spanish edition and 350 in the English. We found significant differences between the two editions (p < 0.001). Also differences were winched on to the number of references in terms (p < 0.001). However, there were not differences in the update/obsolescence of information, neither in the number of queries. CONCLUSIONS: The entries (articles) on nursing terminology in the Spanish edition of Wikipedia, has not yet reached an optimum level. Differences between Spanish and English editions of Wikipedia are more related to term existence than adequacy of information.

RESUMO

A Systematic review of articles from peer-reviewed journals was conducted, studying the complete texts in all cases. The key words selected were: "Eating Disorders" and "Internet." Descriptive analysis was performed on the variables selected, and Fisher's Exact test was used to analyze the presence of a linear relationship between qualitative variables. Of the 7 studies reviewed, 5 (71.42%) focused on content criteria and 2 (28.57%) examined both documentary and content criteria. Documentary quality was evaluated using two assessment instruments developed by two of the authors, comprising a set of 20 different variables, 5 of which were common to both studies (25% observed percentage agreement). Fisher's Exact test revealed significant differences between the two questionnaires (p = 0.049). Studies assessing Website content used 30 different topics to classify the subject matter, of which 6 were common to 2 studies. Although generic instruments for assessing the quality of Websites devoted to eating disorders were found, no validated questionnaire was found. This research did not locate any checklist or simple tool which could be used by consumers of health information available on the Web.

OBJECTIVE: To verify whether the Credibility Indicator is able to evaluate the quality of websites. METHOD: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study of websites on diet and anorexia/bulimia, using searches on Google to access the study population. Quality was studied using 22 variables selected by consolidating international proposals. In addition, eight variables belonging to the Credibility Indicator were also studied. RESULTS: Three hundred and fifty four homepages relating to diet and 366 homepages relating to anorexia/bulimia were evaluated. None of the websites met all of the quality criteria; neither did any website satisfy all of the Credibility Indicators. A positive correlation was observed between fulfilment of the Quality items and the Credibility Indicator (R = 0.72; P < 0.001). Significant differences were found in the fulfilment of the Total Quality variables between the websites that had these variables and those that did not (t-test = -9.91, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The quality of websites covering issues of diet and anorexia/bulimia is still poor. The Credibility Indicator is a useful aid when determining the quality of a website. It is evident that identifying authorship and affiliation is an important factor in predicting the quality of the information.

The increased presence and widespread use of specialized databases, as well as the possibilities for distribution offered by new technologies, require a pertinent method for analyzing documents. Indexing languages emerge from the information growth generated by the scientific revolution as a quick, standardized way to process, store and retrieve document contents. This paper examines the characteristics and advantages of documentary languages in the digital age, describing examples of thesauri and their corresponding hierarchical relationships as applied to eating disorders.

RESUMO

The objective of this study is to describe content quality and its relation with authorship and/or affiliation in eating disorders blogs. The results reveal that indication of authorship in the 391 blogs studied implied greater suitability of the contents concerning eating disorders, as did the existence of affiliation to an institution. In conclusion, indication of authorship in association with a reputed institution should be recognised as representing the primary quality criteria to be borne in mind.

RESUMO

The way in which the quality of life related to health (HRQoL) is affected by the nutritional status of the patient is a subject of constant interest and permanent debate. The purpose of the present paper is to review those studies that relate HRQoL to nutritional status and examine the tools (questionnaires) that they use to investigate this relationship. A critical review of published studies was carried out via an investigation of the following databases: MEDLINE (via PubMed); EMBASE; The Cochrane Library; Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL); Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) Web of Science; Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS); Spanish Health Sciences Bibliographic Index (IBECS). The search was carried out from the earliest date possible until July 2007.The medical subject heading terms used were 'quality of life', 'nutritional status' and 'questionnaires'. The articles had to contain at least one questionnaire that evaluated quality of life. Twenty-eight documents fulfilling the inclusion criteria were accepted, although none of them used a specific questionnaire to evaluate HRQoL related to nutritional status. However, some of them used a combination of generic questionnaires with the intention of evaluating the same. Only three studies selectively addressed the relationship between nutritional status and quality of life, this evaluation being performed not by means of specific questionnaires but by statistical analysis of data obtained via validated questionnaires.
